NIGERIA CENTENARY CELEBRATION... DORA AKUNYILI MARGINALISATION

"WOMAN 2 WOMAN" Hmmmm!

The importance of Womanhood in Nation Building is one feature that can never be undermined, reasons why the United Nations 35% Affirmative Role for Women in Political Offices is taking a splendid role in the Nigerian Democracy as President Goodluck Jonathan has remained Faithful In the realization of this feat through the appointment of Women into public offices and also through the Empowerment of Women to contest Elective positions in the Nation with their Male Counterparts.

As the Nation marks its 100 Years of Nation-Hood it remains crucial and all important to highlight the role of Women in the Unity and Growth of Nigeria despite our Diversity in Cultural and Religious beliefs. The list of Nigerian Women who have thrived both Publicly and Privately may seem innumerable as the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs deem if fit to Honor 100 Nigerian Women in commemoration of the Centenary Celebrations.

It was a Heroic moment and event as memories of Women who fought for our Nationhood was made afresh, but rather too UNFORTUNATE missing the likes of Dr. Dora Akunyili the Former Director General of NAFDAC who gallantry set a pace for Nigeria in fight against the importation and production of Fake and Sub-Standard Drugs which has posed an alarming threat to the Health of many Nigerians in the past decades thus making Nigerian an Hub for Adulterated goods Globally.

The efforts of Dr. Akunyili was farfetched beyond the tenacity of NAFDAC as she Pioneered the REBRANDING NIGERIA Project to the World as GOOD PEOPLE, GREAT NATION and effort that was lauded Globally which earned Nigeria her rightful place in the Heart of many Nations.

DORA'S Heroic efforts are too obvious to be thrashed, despite the modalities involved in the Selection Dr. Akunyili still stands out as Rare Gem in Womanhood.

It is absolutely unspeakable for us to allow Political interest and Vendetta to thrive in times like this. For this no doubt is a clear Abberation and Deviation of the 35% Women Affirmative Power as orchestrated by the Jonathan led Government.

GOOD PEOPLE, GREAT NATION... WHICH WAY NIGERIA???

UDUAGHAN'S EDUCATION TRANSFORMATION; A Sure Legacy For A Sustained Future.

The Great NANA COLLEGE #Warri

Education over time has been highlighted as the Bedrock for Civilization and Positive Transformation towards the attainment and achievement of the basic necessities of life. Thus, bringing to forefront the relevance of an Educated Society which can never be undermined.

Education in Delta State have always been a set priority for Deltans; though it has suffered setbacks in recent times due to neglect by Past administrations which may have heralded the Private Sector to thrive in the Education Sector of the Economy thereby making it unaffordable for majority of Deltans who wholly requires the intervention of Government in providing qualitative Education system for their Wards.

As duly anticipated, the Uduaghan’s administration sprung into action immediately after its inauguration to tackle the decadence of Education in the State and also to forestall a lasting solution that will imprint a “Legacy” for Generations to come. Not unaware of the plights and constraints faced by many Parents while enrolling for SSCE Examinations, Governor Uduaghan strictly declared all SSCE Enrolments FREE,
This singular gesture has witnessed an overwhelming appraisal from Deltans for its sustenance over time and has further built a resounding HOPE for a Brighter Future.

Tertiary Institutions in the State has also felt the “Midas Touch” of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan-led Government, with the erection and provision of State of the art Education Facilities to compliment the efforts of the dedicated Teaching Staffs recruited by the State Government to deliver qualitative Education in accordance to International Best Practices. #UduaghanLegacy

Today, as I travel through the Length and Breadth of Delta State, I am dazed and overwhelmed with the sights of great Monumental & Architectural Edifice as Centers for Learning as it presents the best in serenity and conduciveness for the impartation of Excellence, Knowledge and Good Morales.

The Gorgeous looking NANA College Warri, St. Patrick’s College Asaba, Ogbe Secondary School Effurun not eluding the Ancient Government College Ughelli and James Welch Grammar, remodeled into a Masterpiece to behold are all Testimonials of Concerned Leadership.

Truly, Delta State is the Emerging “Citadel of Academic Excellence” in Nigeria.

NORTH'S CRIES FOR AMNESTY, CAN FIRES BACK..."Jonathan on A SUICIDE Mission".

According to the Holy Book of 2 Samuel 15:31
"When David was told that Ahithophel had joined Absalom's Rebellion, he prayed, “Please, LORD, turn Ahithophel's advice into Nonsense”.

Taking cue from the above Scriptural illustration; in respect to the outright condemnation of the Jonathan’s Peace Initiative and Process by the Leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) whose Counsel will obviously be brought to Nothing due to its sentimental nature.

Before now, many never envisaged the rate of suicide Bombings and insurgencies that has rocked Nigeria lately and how much it has grossly affected Our Economy and integrity as a Nation.
The Boko-Haram insurgency has done much harm and has recently become the main topic of discuss from Nigerians as their activities no doubt has brought more Political Turmoils and Security threats to all concerned citizens due to their mode of operations.

Recently the Cry for Amnesty for the Sect from a Cross-Section of Nigerians, most especially from the Northern Demographic of the Nation who are the worst hit by the activities of the Sect. Like Former First-Lady, Turai Yar’Adua added that there is need for a balance in the system, to herald Peace and also Stall the wild rage of violence. And the latest Appraisal and Endorsement of the Peace process and move by the US Government and also opposition Strongman General Muhamadu Buhari throwing his Full weight of support for the Jonathan Peace Initiatives obviously shows the success and ably sustenance of the Presidential Amnesty Programme in the Niger Delta Region has acted as a Model which orchestrated the call for Amnesty by the Northern leaders.

Though many have greeted the call for Amnesty with frowns amongst reasons which may be justifiable in relation to the modalities for granting Amnesty to the Ex-Niger Delta Militants whose hostilities caused many worries for Nigerians owing to the Economic importance of the Region. Though, there is no Comparison between the activities of Niger Delta Struggle and the Boko-Haram Insurgency but PEACE has no Variation.

For to the Records, there were key Players in the Niger Delta Region who fought and sacrificed much for the realization of the Presidential Amnesty Programme. Undermining security pleas and advise President Goodluck Jonathan (then Vice-President)) led a team of Niger Delta Leaders which includes Elder Godsday Orubebe, Fmr. Gov. Timipre Sylva, DSP Alameseigha, Gen. Godwin Abe, Gov Emmanuel Uduaghan and a host of many concerned Niger Delta Leaders to the Creeks to Negotiate and Bargain for a CEASE-FIRE on behalf of the Nigeria Government. Hence, the expectations of Nigerians for the replication of such gesture by the Northern Leaders and Elite to bring Peace to their Region

"As then VICE Now President of Federal Republic of Nigeria Dr. GOODLUCK Ebelemi Jonathan PhD despite Security Reports risked his life, entered the Creeks met FACE 2 FACE with the Militants to resolve their issue which led to the birth of AMNESTY What more commitment can A Leader display _ORUBEBE asked.

PEACE is Priceless and absolutely Fundamental for Development to Thrive.---“General Abdulsalam Abubakar”.

Below is an excerpt of CAN’s Agitation against the Proposed Amnesty for Boko Haram as reported by Vanguard Nigeria.

Boko Haram Amnesty: You're On Suicide Mission, Christians tell FG.

ABUJA — CHRISTIAN leaders, yesterday, opposed the Federal Government’s plan to offer unconditional amnesty to members of the Boko Haram sect, describing it as a misplaced priority and an unjust cause.

This came even as there is skepticism within the military circle that the amnesty will work out, adding that it may turn out to be a colossal failure and the Federal Government may end up embarrassing itself over its non workability.

The Christian leaders asked the government to take urgent steps to compensate and resettle victims of Boko Haram attacks instead of wasting time and resources on a matter that would not yield any positive results at the end of the day.

RE: IF PDP DOES NOT SHARE FUEL SUBSIDY MONEY, WHO WILL? – PASTOR TUNDE BAKARE

The Convener of Save Nigeria Group (SNG) and Senior Pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare have once again continued with his Tradition of inciting and contradicting Nigerians Politically in the guise of activism, which has always been his style for the past decades. Pastor Bakare over time has compelled himself to making false and doomed predictions about Nigeria and the Government of the day.
#FalseProphecy

Just like his many crusade against corruption and corrupt practices we may be compelled to ask if he was on a "Sabbatical" Leave during the FaCrook&OteDollars Subsidy Scam SAGA which the Anti-Corruption Team #EFCC of President GOODLUCK Jonathan was able to curtail with much ease and other similar occurrences.

Maybe his services is most needed to Save the "SHAKY" Foundations of the APC/CPC than diving into more complex issues "STATE OF THE NATION" that requires Objectivity that he remains deficient of
For it is written “Oh Ye PROPHET, Heal Thy Self First”.

For it is quite unfortunate for the SURE-P to come under criticism by Pastor Bakare despite the huge successes it has made and recorded since its inauguration in 2011, The Programme has made it possible for the availability of Funds in prosecuting much Capital Projects in the Nation.

The SURE-P has been able to Recruit and Employ thousands of Nigerians
Nationwide thereby curbing the menace of Unemployment,
It remains the sole obligation of Patriotic Nigerians to give their full support to promote the success of the Programme.

Below is an excerpt of the statements made by Pastor Tunde Bakare

If PDP Does Not Share Fuel Subsidy Money, Who Will? – Pastor Tunde Bakare

General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has
urged the Chairman of Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme,
SURE-P, implementation monitoring team, Chief Christopher Kolade to
resign so that he can save his reputation from being soiled by the
current allegations of non-performance by the board.

Chief Christopher Kolade The convener of the Save Nigeria Group, SNG, also regretted the delayed trial of those alleged to have stolen fuel subsidy funds,
arguing that it was an indication that the Peoples Democratic Party,
PDP, had overbearing influence over other arms of government.
Bakare, while speaking to newsmen yesterday in Lagos said the SNG
would soon take a stand on the pardon granted to former Governor of
Bayelsa State, Chief Deiprieye Alamieyeseigha.

“If people are saying that the PDP is sharing the subsidy reinvestment
fund, I would not be surprised. If PDP does not share the money, who
will? Do you think the PDP has good intentions? I felt pity for Dr.
Christopher Kolade when he was appointed to head that committee.

POPE FRANCIS CALLS FOR WORLD PEACE...NIGERIA IN MIND!

The Head of the Roman Catholic Faith, POPE Francis has called on all Christians around the World to eschew evil and embrace a Peaceful co-existence to make the world a Better place. NIGERIA...In View

The Pope in his First Easter Message since his ascension as POPE, made
specific call on conflicting Nations to sheath their sword with more emphasis on Nigeria. He used the opportunity to call for Love and Sacrifice which Easter depicts.

Pope Francis is obviously an epitome of PEACE itself as his taciturn
and phlegmatic Nature makes him a WORLD APOSTLE FOR PEACE...

MOA….

Below is an excerpt of his Easter Message and Prayers.

POPE FRANCIS GIVES EASTER MESSAGE OF PEACE

Pope Francis used his first Easter homily to call for peace around the world and to decry greed, before ending the service with Easter greetings in 65 languages.

Speaking from main balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica, Francis specifically mentioned conflicts in Syria, between Israel and the Palestinians, between North and South Korea, and in Africa in a plea for peace. A crowd of at least 300,000 gathered in St. Peter’s Square — the largest crowd yet to see the new pope.

In his first “Urbi et Orbi” (to the City and the World) message, the pope also denounced what he said was a search for “easy gain” in a greedy world, and he called for better protection of the environment, urging the world to be better “guardians” of creation.

His messages and his image as a humble and spiritual figure resonated with the enthusiastic crowd, whose numbers were no doubt buoyed by theBcrisp and clear weather following weeks of mostly gray skies in Rome. To keep the focus on the pope’s message, officials used loudspeakers to broadcast a plea to the crowd not to waive flags or applaud during the service.

“He is an example for all of us,” said Rosanna Malatesta, a 59-year-old church worker from Rome. “The leadership of such a holy man is something the world badly needs today.”

Added Stella Niccolini, 50, a high school history teacher: “When a man of peace calls for peace, the world should listen.”

Though he spoke mostly in Italian, Francis concluded today’s service with Easter blessings in what Vatican officials said was 65 languages, including Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Chinese, Latin, and Esperanto. The tradition of blessing large crowds in multiple languages is one started by Pope John Paul II.

Two and a half weeks into Francis’ papacy, it is no longer novel to those at St. Peter’s that he is the first pope from the Americas or the first Jesuit to become pontiff. Many expert observers joined the faithful in the square in saying they were eager to see what the future held for the pope.

Hawkers in St. Peter’s Square were selling a variety of Pope Francis souvenirs for the first time today (versions featuring Pope Benedict XVI and John Paul were still available).

“There are clear phases to a new papacy,” Fr. Alistair Sear, a church historian, said before the Easter service. “When we first find out who the new pope is, everyone wants to know what he is like, what are his priorities. With Pope Francis, we now know all that. Soon he will have to begin the difficult tasks of reforming Vatican institutions.”

It’s a sentiment that Annie Harrison, 39, an IT specialist from Chicago vacationing in Rome and Vatican City, shared: “He is a good and holy man,” she said. “Now we will have to see how effective he can be at modernizing the church.”

Among the issues Francis must confront in the coming weeks: Pedophilia priest scandals reaching higher up the church hierarchy, issues related to transparency in the Vatican, charges of financial malfeasance at the Vatican bank, and reforms of the powerful Roman curia, the church’s main administrative bureaucracy.

But for many visitors today, those issues can wait at least a little longer.

“It was very moving to see such a diverse crowd of people from all over the world,” said Arlene Gibbs, an interior decorator from Verona, N.J., who lives in Rome.

Rome native Nello Di Martino, 21, a university student, agreed. “I am overcome by emotion,” he said, wiping away tears. “I did not expect to be so emotional. I grew up Catholic, but am not particularly religious. But being here I just felt a wave of emotion.

“I am very hopeful the new pope can do his part to make the world more
peaceful and more kind and better.”
