ASABA DECLARATION... ON JONATHAN WE STAND!





Sunday May 12th, 2013 stands out as another important and remarkable Date in the History of Nigeris as it witnessed the "Unanimous and Unprecedented" gathering of South-South and South-East Governors to Consolidate and Drum Up support for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR

Undermining Political differences and interests, the Governors, 1. Chime Sullivan-Enugu 2. Peter Obi-Anambra 3. Martins Elechi-Ebonyi 4. Rochas Okorocha-Imo 5. Theodore Orji-Abia 6. Emmanuel Uduaghan-Delta 7. Liyel Imoke-C/River 8. Godswill Akpabio-A/ibom 9. Seriake Dickson-Bayelsa 10. Tele Ikuru-Rivers State Dep. Governorcollectively pledeged their loyalty and support for President Jonathan as they score high his Transformation Agenda despite the turmoil and distractions so far.

The Governors took their stand in ASABA, Delta State Capital which have lately become a Center for such meetings due to UDUAGHAN'S Unflinching support and belief for President Jonathan which has turned into a model for emulation.

Governor Uduaghan overtime has been renowned for his PEACE & Bridge Building across Ethnic Lines thus promoting Asaba as a Center of UNITY. This has made him and the State a Citadel for such monumental meetings, recalling the recent South-South Summit in Asaba that also heralded total solidarity from the Region for President GOODLUCK Jonathan.

Conclusively, they Declared that "The South-South and South-East Governors" commends President Goodluck Jonathan for his Focused Leadership, and Bold results yielding Transformation Agenda, which deserves unwavering support of all Nigerians and friends of Nigeria alike for the laudable achievements of the administration in strengthening our democracy , stabilizing the polity , growing the economy and improving the quality of lives of all citizens continue to unfold. Economic and political corporation within the Regions.

The Governors further commended Jonathan for the "Extensive Ongoing Rehabilitation & Modernization of the Airports across the country , particularly those in Our Region", but called on the Federal Government to establishes Cargo Airports including additional Sea Ports in the Region, including Ibaka & Escravos".


Harping more on sustainable growth for both Regions, they advised the Federal Government to repair Federal Roads in the Region to boost Trade and investment even as they laud the commencement of the Construction Second (2ND) Niger Bridge.
