"THEIR REWARD IS IN HEAVEN"...TEACHER'S VERIFICATION EXERCISE ‘ll Eliminate Waste_UDUAGHAN

By Biblical injunction "The REWARD of Teachers is in HEAVEN... Though no longer admissible. It's therefore pertinent to stress that Teachers truely deserve Better Treatment #PACKAGE been the custodian of KNOWLEDGE Hence, the TEACHERS must show "Susceptibility"

HOWEVER, this has not been the case in Delta State as Teachers are rather found guilty of ABSENTEEISM than the Students and this was strongly condemned by The Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan UDUAGHAN (CON) at an Inter-Denominational Sercice in commemoration of NIGERIA @52

In his words,The GOVERNOR said, Preliminary Investigations had revealed that many Genuine Teachers were not always in their Classrooms"

Thus, its No LONGER in Vogue for Teachers to abandon the Classrooms engaging in PRIVATE petty Trade to the detriment of the EDUCATIONAL Foundation of the Future Generation of Our Great Nation.

Therefore, Inline with his "Unwavering" Resolve to Transform the EDUCATION Sector, by "INVESTING in Teachers 2 INSPIRE The Students..., Gov. Uduaghan has defiled all "ANOMALIES" in his WELFARE Package 4 Teachers in Delta State by Prompt PAYMENT of TEACHERS Monthly Salary.

Hence, Our Teachers must show commitment so that their REWARD ll not Only be in HEAVEN but also here on EARTH.

Let it be known that Delta State is no longer a Safe HEAVEN for Incompetent Teachers who wishes to collect "JUMBO PAY", yet frustrates the full implementation of Governor UDUAGHAN'S Three (3) Point Agenda.

"TO Whom MUCH is given MUCH is equally EXPECTED..."

Teachers’ Verification Exercise ‘ll Eliminate Waste —Uduaghan

DELTA State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has confirmed that there is an on-going staff verification exercise in the state public primary and secondary schools fi out ghost workers.

The state Commissioner for Primary and Secondary Education, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare, had given the hint last week.

Uduaghan, who spoke on Sunday at an inter-denominational thanksgiving service in Asaba to mark the nation’s 52nd independence anniversary, also declared that there would no longer be automatic promotion for teachers.

The governor said preliminary investigations had revealed that many genuine teachers were not always in their classrooms.

“In a particular school, several physical checks showed that only five teachers, out of 24, are on the payroll,” he said, noting that this trend must stop as government was prepared to pay the contentious 27.5 per cent wage increase only to genuine teachers.

“There are so many people on the payroll yet few are doing the job. This exercise will therefore expose the irregularities in the system and reduce the huge wage bill and eliminate waste,” he stated.

Uduaghan disclosed that about N3.7b is spent monthly on teachers’ salaries at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels, saying that it was a heavy burden on the state’s finances.

He called on the state leadership of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) to call off its on-going strike action and use dialogue as an instrument of conflict resolution as most of the issues at stake demanded understanding and maturity.

The governor said that though local governments were responsible for primary school teachers’ salaries, the state government releases over N500m monthly to augment their salaries.

The governor regretted that “every teacher on Grade Level 16 wants to be promoted to Level 17 when there are no existing vacancies in the system.”

“Even in the civil service, there is order and the processes followed are very clear. Promotions are done in consonance with existing vacancies but in the teaching profession, everybody wants to be promoted irrespective of the vacancies, he stated.

The governor, who promised to do “unusual things” to move the state forward, said the challenges facing the state were bigger than its resources.
