RE: 500 BISHOPS VOW TO JOIN G7 GOVERNORS

Majek Fashek - "RELIGION NA POLITICS"

The News that about 500 Bishops across Nigeria is planning to join the force with the rebellious G7 Governors should not just be laughable but be given less attention. Firstly we should be aware that “The Bishops and Eminent Clerics Forum of Nigeria” is not a recognized Christian association in Nigeria and Christianity should not be dragged into petty politics being meted by the New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP).

If this is a New start of questioning the goings on of things in Nigeria, then I’d advice that these Men of God should retrace their steps backwards and show us what they did when a government at a time in Nigeria was dragging the Nation backwards.
Where were they when General Sani Abacha almost finished the Nation in abject poverty and misrule, where were they when this Government is fighting to overcome the Boko Haram insurgency using States own machinery and the support of Religious Bodies and people like Pastor AYO ORITSEJAFOR, CAN President> to address the concerns of Christians across the Nation?

It should be clear that there is a clear cut between the State and the Church. The role of the Church is to support the Government in doing the Right Thing and not joining Political "gangsters" to cause more chaos for a Nation that is aiming to regain full Peaceful coexistence as it were.

It is worthy of note that, Nigeria under the leadership of President GOODLUCK Jonathan (GCFR) have experienced unprecedented growth in all areas ranging from a robust Economy and a Job creation. The coming together of the G7 Governors is aimed at distabilising the hard work of President Jonathan and on a wise advice these Bishops should not allow their emotions and personal gain seeking tendencies lead them to doing the WRONG Thingz.

If these Bishops are saying they are fighting for the interests of Nigeria, WHY haven't they come out to address the issue of ASUU being on strike for over three months now? Nigerians have known better now as this is just a show to join the trend of public opinions just be in the News for speaking.

NO WONDER, Majek Fashek sang "RELIGION NA POLITICS"

It will be better for the Christian Community in Nigeria to put to rest that the Church of God is not fashioned in Politics rather than a place of liberty. How I wish these Bishops emulate the Leadership style of Papa AYO ORITSEJAFOR and how he has been handling the Christian Community these years. The Church must not be divided and must not be deceived into issues of Politics leaving the core areas that must be tackled in the Body of Christ.

God bless PGEJ!!
