The former Nigerian Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has decried the situation in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which he claimed is now controlled by handful of people.
He said that, “Goodluck Jonathan assured me in one of our meetings,that the leaders of the party has resolve to endorse and support me as PDP 2019 Presidential candidate unopposed bcoz it was zone to the North and I accepted the request.
"Due to the respect I have for Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and my love for Nigeria, but I'm surprise over what is happening in PDP today,a Governor is now in Total control of the entire structure of the Party.
“PDP is under the control of a small boy and he does what he likes without respect for the Founding fathers of the party", the former Nigerian Vice President concluded.
Feelers in the party are suggesting that he may leave the party if it becomes clearer that he will not get the party’s ticket for the 2019 Presidential election.
Atiku Abubarkar’s political associates formed a political party last year, which may serve as a contingent for the former VP if PDP decides to give the ticket to loyal members. -
