HISTORY IN THE MAKING! EAST-WEST ROAD, "ASAP"_JONATHAN

The famous EAST-WEST Road #Benin-Ore and its relevance in the Nation's Economy is one that can not be over-emphasized. As its stretches from WARRI through BAYELSA, PORT-HARCOURT & AKWA-IBOM. Which are obviously the Big Names in Oil Production and Maritime Enterprise. This Road has suffered negligence and decadence for Decades by Past Administrations without priority attention given to it, despite its Award for a Re-construction and Dualization by the Obasanjo Administration.

The ROAD which links the WARRI Refinery and Petrol-Chemical Company and the Port-Harcourt Refineries and even Sea and Inland Ports from both States is one that requires priority attention.

Speaking, @ a Public Presentation of the Book, “Remaking the Niger Delta: Challenges and Opportunities,” by his Special Adviser on Niger Delta Affairs, Hon. Kingsley Kuku, President JONATHAN said Government would take advantage of the PEACE currently prevailing in the NIGER DELTA Region to TRANSFORM IT.

Obviously! the Transformation of the Region will further help to sustain the Peace engendered through the laudable Achievement of the Amnesty Programme of the Federal Government.

Evaluating the strategic importance of the East-West Road for the South South Zone of the Country, which links the Region with other parts of the Country, adding that Government was also committed to delivering on the RAILWAY Project in the Region even as WORKS on the 2ND NIGER BRIDGE is already in progress.

Recalling the RESTIVE DAYS in the NIGER DELTA, where nothing less than N3 Trillion was lost to the Restiveness against OIL Production in the Region in 2008 alone, Thus, President Jonathan who was represented by his VICE, ARC. NAMADI SAMBO stressed the need to sustain the Amnesty Programme to ensure lasting Peace in the Niger Delta.

Saying, ”Government will be committed to all PHASES of the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme and will use the opportunity of the PRICELESS "PEACE" in the Region to diversify the Nation’s Economy which had been Oil-dependent.
#NigeriaBeyondOil

It is in this light that the JONATHAN led Transformation Administration has reiterated his Will & Commitment in making the EAST-WEST ROAD Project a SUCCESS AS-SOON-AS-POSSIBLE...!
