The massive Criticism been heaped and melted on the Personality of President Goodluck Ebelemi Jonathan and his Administration has drawn the Attention of concerned IJAW Youths across the Nation and in Diaspora.

Yes! A Prophet is Never Respected at Home... But in this case JONATHAN is LOVED even more @Home.

In a Communique issued at the end of IJAW "Family" Meeting in Port-Harcourt, IJAW Youths throw their SUPPORT behind their Own especially in the face of daunting CHALLENGES which obviously is been tackled in the Right DIRECTION as witnessed in the improved POWER & Road Map to Development in the various Sectors
of the Nigerian Economy.

It could be recalled that these Youths have suffered Negligence & Deprivation despite the huge Resources & Wealth tapped from their Soil #OLOIBIRI-1950 before the emergence of the PRESIDENTIAL AMNESTY PROGRAMME under the able Guardians of Jonathan's Administration which is poised in alleviating the degradation and POVERTY of the Oil Rich NIGER DELTA Region.

And to crown it all the recent PERFORMANCE CONTRACT AGREEMENT is a firm confirmation of the GENUINE INTENTIONS of President Jonathan's commitment to TRANSFORM Nigeria...

BRUTALITY IS NOT IN OUR CHARACTER_ IJAW YOUTHS declared

30 Aug 2012

Youth leaders of Ijaw land have called on President Goodluck Jonathan to ignore the stiff opposition being mounted against his person and administration by the opposition and focus on his programme of restoring the nation.
The National Leaders Forum (NLF) of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), which gave the advise in a communiqué issued at the end of its meeting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital yesterday also described the recent claim by the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) that Nigeria’s economic history as fraudulent and misleading.
The communiqué, which was signed by the IYC National President, Miabiye Kuromiema; its National Spokesman, Jeremiah Owoupele, and seven others also commended the Bayelsa State government for the adoption of the Ijaw national anthem, coat of arms and flag. "THE JERUSALEM OF IJAW NATION"
They expressed dissatisfaction with the way northern leaders had coordinated their activities right from the period of late President Umaru Yar’adua’s ailment, when the leaders allegedly worked to prevent Jonathan from assuming office as acting president.
“The political history of our country is replete with our political and fraternal support to the fathers of those who today are despising us and are mounting damaging opposition to Jonathan’s administration, be this through Boko Haram, the syndicate at the National House of Representatives, the Northern Governors Forum, Arewa Consultative Forum and other political interests.
“We accordingly appeal to them to tune down their aggression and focus on issues and make utterances that promote unity, peace and integration of our country. We wish to point out that for the sake of Nigerians who voted for change seen in Jonathan, we are constrained from actions likely to tip the nation again.”
“The Ijaw Youth Council urges Mr. President, a true Ijaw son, not to be dragged into the use of “brutish power”, but to continue to approach the security challenges and abrasive opposition and landmines against his person and administration from the stand point of ‘smart power’. This is not weakness but true demonstration of a character of strength and Ijaw courage, which style of leadership is unknown in Nigeria,” the youths advised
The body, however, said it would continue to ensure the availability of the natural human resources of Ijawland for the equitable development of Nigeria as a nation.
“The Ijaw Youth Council on behalf of the Ijaw Nation express our continuing desire to provide our natural and human resources for responsible, fair and equitable use, in the spirit of African brotherhood and within the principles of derivation and federalism, for sustainable development of our country,” they said.
